Bane of our System

Hi guys,

On looking at my previous posts i sound more angry towards our people but i am not able to conceal my emotions time and again.

Here is another one of the same intensity but to a very large proportion.......the thekkady tragedy...

Thekkady is one among the prime tourist destination in Kerala with backwaters like munnar and kumarakom.

A lovely place with backwaters surrounded by coconut trees and tree branches popping out of water makes it look amazingly beautiful. This thekkady in Gods own country has become the yamadharmaraja (God of Death) of 45 people and still counting.

A ferry carrying around 85 people capsized in the middle of water among which 25 escaped, 45 drowned and others still missing.......The reason given by the government states that the boat capsized as all the people went to one side of the boat to have a glimpse of an elephant in the forest.

On interrogation, the boat driver revealed that he did not have experience in handling fibre boat and he was an amateur.

Is this shame on thekkady tourist authorities or our government negligence?????

We cannot blame our government as a whole for tsunami deaths or unlikely floods and famine but thekkady tragedy....purely our government system failure.

Are we taking any preventive measures like

mandatory use of life saving jackets for tourists during boat trip.....no

Maintenance and servicing of boats regularly......no

Only experienced drivers for the boats.....no

Or else are we prepared for this kind of situation like experienced swimmers for the safety of tourists or guards stationed at regular distance to attend critical situations, the answer is again no.

The saddest part of them all is a photo in a newspaper of a boat in cochin plying tourists without jackets for safety after thekkady tragedy is really hard to digest and feel angry over our system.

When we possess zero risk management procedures, how can we boast as Incredible India!!!!!!!

I am eager to contribute for change in our system and raise my voice without any second thought that i am Proud to be an Indian.
